Itās silky and elegant in feel, washing a pure mix of wild berry fruits and sweet spices across the palate, all nicely framed by mineral-tinged acids. Violet florals resonate throughout the long and slightly smoky finish, as this tapers off long and fresh with a tart twang. The 2014 Ca del Merlo trades power for grace, and does so with style. Itās a blend of 80% traditional Valpolicella grapes, along with 20% Cabernet and Merlot. This is an understated beauty."
