Description

WS 91 / Falstaff 91 pts

WS: Superrich nose of plums, berries and toasted oak, with hints of freshly tanned leather. Medium-bodied, with hints of fresh herbs, berries and toasted oak. (Web Only—2003)

Falstaff : Bright dark ruby; intense, inviting nose with a distinctive aroma of lilac, some cocoa and leather, lots of cassis; shows very nice fruit notes on the palate, again a lot of cassis, handy tannin, very clear, the wine develops a very good length in the back palate.

Crafted from some of the winery’s oldest vines, these wines are a shining example of how international grape varieties can perform in the soils of Panzano. Thanks to the estate’s high altitude and galestro soils, Bruno di Rocca is known for its extreme freshness and complexity.

Grape Varieties: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon 15% Sangiovese
This historic Cabernet Sauvignon-Sangiovese blend boasts integrated, chewy tannins and ample body on the palate with bold flavours of strewed black fruits and liquorice with a touch of mint. The nose is clean, pronounced and fruit-forward with bramble, ripe blackberries and cooked blackcurrant. Pronounced and layered with an intense, satisfying finish.
